# Ralph Hutton

**Ralph Hutton** (born March 6, 1948) is a former competition [swimmer](/source/Swimming_(sport)) who represented Canada in three consecutive Olympic Games in 1964, 1968 and 1972. Hutton won a silver medal in the [400-metre freestyle](/source/Swimming_at_the_1968_Summer_Olympics_-_Men's_400_metre_freestyle) at the [1968 Summer Olympics](/source/1968_Summer_Olympics) in Mexico City.[1] Hutton won a total of 24 medals in international competitions, including the [Summer Olympics](/source/Summer_Olympics), [Commonwealth Games](/source/Commonwealth_Games) and [Pan American Games](/source/Pan_American_Games). He was inducted in the [International Swimming Hall of Fame](/source/International_Swimming_Hall_of_Fame) as an "Honor Swimmer" in 1984.[2]
