# Rally Chile

**Rally Chile** is a [rally](/source/Rallying) competition based in [Concepción](/source/Concepci%C3%B3n,_Chile) and held throughout the [Biobío](/source/Biob%C3%ADo_Region) region of [Chile](/source/Chile). It was first held in 2018 when it was run as a candidate event as part of a bid to join the [World Rally Championship](/source/World_Rally_Championship) schedule. The candidate event was deemed successful and the rally was added to the [2019](/source/2019_World_Rally_Championship) calendar. The rally made Chile the [thirty-second country](/source/List_of_World_Rally_Championship_rallies#Rallies_by_location) to host the WRC since the championship was launched in [1973](/source/1973_World_Rally_Championship).[1]
