He was part of the Indian spin trio of [Kumble](/source/Anil_Kumble)-[Raju](/source/Venkatapathy_Raju)-Chauhan, in the 1990s.

In April 2007 he was seriously injured in a car accident. He currently resides in [Bhilai](/source/Bhilai), [Chhattisgarh](/source/Chhattisgarh) and is employed with [Bhilai Steel Plant](/source/Bhilai_Steel_Plant). He also runs his business.
