**Ragnar Anthonius Maria Oratmangoen** (born 21 January 1998) is a professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [winger](/source/Forward_(association_football)#Winger) or an [attacking midfielder](/source/Midfielder_(association_football)#Attacking_midfielder) for [Belgian Pro League](/source/Belgian_Pro_League) club [Dender](/source/F.C.V._Dender_E.H.). Born in the Netherlands, he represents the [Indonesia national team](/source/Indonesia_national_football_team).

## Club career

### NEC

Born in [Oss](/source/Oss),[2] Oratmangoen turned professional with [NEC](/source/NEC_Nijmegen) in April 2016.[3] In December 2017 he signed a six-month [loan contract](/source/Loan_(sports)#Association_football) with [TOP Oss](/source/TOP_Oss), effective from January 2018.[4]

### Cambuur

After Oratmangoen had been demoted to the reserve team Jong NEC as a result of fierce competition in his position ahead of the [2019–20 season](/source/2019%E2%80%9320_Eerste_Divisie), he moved to [SC Cambuur](/source/SC_Cambuur) on a free transfer on 24 July 2019. There, he signed a two-year contract with an option for another season.[5] He then signed with [Go Ahead Eagles](/source/Go_Ahead_Eagles) in May 2021, who had also won promotion to the [Eredivisie](/source/Eredivisie).[6]

### Groningen

On 15 April 2022, Oratmangoen signed a three-year contract with a two-year option with [Groningen](/source/FC_Groningen), starting from the [2022–23 season](/source/2022%E2%80%9323_FC_Groningen_season).[7]

#### Loan to Fortuna Sittard

On 1 September 2023, Oratmangoen moved on loan to [Fortuna Sittard](/source/Fortuna_Sittard), with an option of [buyout clause](/source/Buyout_clause).[8]

### Dender

On 13 August 2024, Oratmangoen officially joined [Belgian Pro League](/source/Belgian_Pro_League) club [F.C.V Dender](/source/F.C.V._Dender_E.H.) on a two-year contract.[9] Oratmangoen made his debut for the club on 22 September 2024, against [Genk](/source/K.R.C._Genk) in a 0–4 defeat.[10] On 26 October 2024, Oratmangoen scored his first [league](/source/Belgian_Pro_League) goal for Dender in a 2–5 home loss to [Mechelen](/source/K.V._Mechelen).[11]

## International career

In November 2023, Oratmangoen confirmed that he had decided to represent Indonesia at international level.[12] On 7 March 2024, Oratmangoen was called up to the [Indonesia national team](/source/Indonesia_national_football_team) for the [2026 FIFA World Cup qualification](/source/2026_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_(AFC)) matches against [Vietnam](/source/Vietnam_national_football_team).[13] On 26 March 2024, Ragnar scored in his debut against Vietnam in a 3–0 win, earning the man-of-the-match for his performance.[14][15]

On 5 September 2024, Oratmangoen gave an assist towards [Sandy Walsh](/source/Sandy_Walsh) deflection against [Saudi Arabia](/source/Saudi_Arabia_national_football_team) in a 1–1 draw in the third round of World Cup qualifiers. On 10 October 2024, Oratmangoen scored against [Bahrain](/source/Bahrain_national_football_team), in a controversial match that ended in a 2–2 stalemate.[16]

## Personal life

Born in the Netherlands, Oratmangoen is a [Muslim](/source/Muslim) of [Indonesian](/source/Indonesians) descent,[17] with his grandparents being from [Tanimbar Islands](/source/Tanimbar_Islands_Regency), [Maluku](/source/Maluku_(province)).[18] He converted to [Islam](/source/Islam) when he was 15 years old.[19]

He is the nephew of the [Indonesian ambassador to China and Mongolia](/source/Embassy_of_Indonesia%2C_Beijing), [Djauhari Oratmangun](/source/Djauhari_Oratmangun).[20]

On 18 March 2024, Oratmangoen officially obtained Indonesian citizenship.[21]
