It was mentioned in a document of Duke [Bolesław IV of Warsaw](/source/Boles%C5%82aw_IV_of_Warsaw) from 1440. During the [January Uprising](/source/January_Uprising), on July 30, 1863, a skirmish between Polish insurgents and Russian soldiers took place there.
