The 97-kilometer highway runs from [Sainte-Geneviève-de-Berthier](/source/Sainte-Genevi%C3%A8ve-de-Berthier,_Quebec) at the junction of [Route 158](/source/Quebec_Route_158) north of [Autoroute 40](/source/Quebec_Autoroute_40) and ends in [Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci](/source/Notre-Dame-de-la-Merci,_Quebec) at the junction of [Route 125](/source/Quebec_Route_125). In [Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon](/source/Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon,_Quebec), it overlaps [Route 348](/source/Quebec_Route_348) while between north of [Saint-Jean-de-Matha](/source/Saint-Jean-de-Matha,_Quebec) and [Saint-Émélie-de-L'Énergie](/source/Sainte-%C3%89m%C3%A9lie-de-l'%C3%89nergie,_Quebec) it overlaps [Route 131](/source/Quebec_Route_131).
