# Qua Russaw

**Jaquavious "Qua" Russaw** (born c. 2005) is an American [college football](/source/College_football) [linebacker](/source/Linebacker) for the [Ohio State Buckeyes](/source/Ohio_State_Buckeyes_football). He previously played for the [Alabama Crimson Tide](/source/Alabama_Crimson_Tide_football).

## Early life

Russaw was born in [Montgomery, Alabama](/source/Montgomery,_Alabama), and attended [George Washington Carver High School](/source/George_Washington_Carver_High_School_(Montgomery,_Alabama)).[1] He was a two-time first-team all-state selection in football[2] and also competed in track at Carver. He ran 11.7 in the 100 and also competed in the shot put.[3]

Russaw was rated No. 9 in the ESPN 300 ranking of prospects in the [2023 college football recruiting class](/source/2023_college_football_recruiting_class),[4] though ranked somewhat lower by [On3.com](/source/On3.com) (No. 27 nationally),[5] [Rivals.com](/source/Rivals.com) (No. 43 nationally),[6] and [247Sports](/source/247Sports) (No. 64 nationally).[3] He received scholarship offers from multiple universities, including Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Texas A&M, and USC.[4][7] Russaw committed to Alabama in December 2022.[8]

## College career

On January 12, 2026, Russaw committed to Ohio State.[9]
