It is made with [dough](/source/dough) mixed with powdered red [chilli pepper](/source/chilli_pepper)s, [garam masala](/source/garam_masala) (a hot [spice blend](/source/spice_mix)) and red [food coloring](/source/food_coloring). Small balls of this dough are sprinkled with mashed [urad dal](/source/urad_dal), [coriander](/source/coriander) and [anar dana](/source/anar_dana), rolled out and then [deep-fried](/source/deep-fried).
