**Qatar Amiri Flight** is a [VVIP](/source/Very_important_person) air transport operator owned and operated by the [government of Qatar](/source/Politics_of_Qatar). It operates on-demand, worldwide charters and caters almost exclusively to the [royal family of Qatar](/source/House_of_Thani) and government officials. The majority of its fleet is painted in the standard [livery](/source/Aircraft_livery) of Qatari [flag carrier](/source/Flag_carrier) [Qatar Airways](/source/Qatar_Airways).

While commercial flights of Qatar Airways operate at [Hamad International Airport](/source/Hamad_International_Airport) since 2014, the Qatar Amiri Flight remains based in the [old Doha International Airport.](/source/Doha_International_Airport)

Though not part of the Amiri fleet, a [Boeing 747SP](/source/Boeing_747SP) and fourth [Boeing 747-8](/source/Boeing_747-8) were operated for the Qatari elite until 2016 and 2018, respectively. Both were registered in [Bermuda](/source/Bermuda) through the company Worldwide Aircraft Holding.

The 747SP had previously flown for [United](/source/United_Airlines) and [Pan American](/source/Pan_American_Airways_(1996%E2%80%931998)). It was acquired by [CSDS Aircraft](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=CSDS_Aircraft_Sales_and_Leasing&action=edit&redlink=1) and is currently stored at [Pinal Airpark](/source/Pinal_Airpark). The [Emir of Qatar](/source/Emir_of_Qatar) [Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani](/source/Tamim_bin_Hamad_Al_Thani) gifted the [Boeing 747-8](/source/Boeing_747-8) to [Turkey](/source/Turkey) in September 2018.[1] This proved controversial in Turkey due to the sheer cost of the plane.[2]

The BBJ 747-8 registered as A7-HHE was the first aircraft of its type to be delivered, on 28 February 2012. The BBJ 747-8 is the largest VIP aircraft ever built.[1]
