Fame in cinema brought Zaychenko the role of Sgt. Ivan Pukhov in [Vadim Abdrashitov](/source/Vadim_Abdrashitov)'s ''[Planet Parade](/source/Planet_Parade)'' (1984). Later, the actor starred in two more films by this director: ''[Plumbum, or The Dangerous Game](/source/Plumbum%2C_or_The_Dangerous_Game)'' and ''[Armavir](/source/%3Aru%3A%D0%90%D1%80%D0%BC%D0%B0%D0%B2%D0%B8%D1%80_(%D1%84%D0%B8%D0%BB%D1%8C%D0%BC))''.

In 1990, Zaychenko played Ivan Shlykov in [Pavel Lungin](/source/Pavel_Lungin)'s ''[Taxi Blues](/source/Taxi_Blues)''.
