# Pyotr Nikolayev

**Pyotr Nikolayev** (18 April 1924 – 2000)[1] was a Soviet [sports shooter](/source/Shooting_sport). He competed in the [100 m running deer](/source/Shooting_at_the_1952_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Men's_100_metre_running_deer,_single_and_double_shot) event at the [1952 Summer Olympics](/source/1952_Summer_Olympics).[2]

## Personal life

Nikolayev served in the [Soviet Army](/source/Soviet_Army) as a squad leader during the [Second World War](/source/Second_World_War).[1] He was awarded the [Medal "For Courage"](/source/Medal_%22For_Courage%22_(Russia)) and [Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945"](/source/Medal_%22For_the_Victory_over_Germany_in_the_Great_Patriotic_War_1941%E2%80%931945%22).[1]
