'''Puntaru''' is a village on [Pantar Island](/source/Pantar_Island) in the [Alor Regency](/source/Alor_Regency) in [East Nusa Tenggara](/source/East_Nusa_Tenggara) province of [Indonesia](/source/Indonesia). Puntaru has a population of approximately 600 and is the administrative seat of Desa Tude. The traditional language of Puntaru is [Western Pantar](/source/Western_Pantar_language) (Tubbe dialect),<ref name="ELP">{{cite web |title=Western Pantar |url=https://www.endangeredlanguages.com/lang/9449 |website=Endangered Languages Project |access-date=4 November 2024}}</ref> though all adult residents also speak [Indonesian](/source/Indonesian_language).

An elementary school and a regional junior high school are located in Puntaru. 

The economy centers around subsistence farming of [dry-land rice](/source/rice) and other cereal crops.
