'''Punta Chueca''' ([Seri](/source/Seri_language): {{lang|sei|'''Socaaix'''}}) is a [Seri](/source/Seri_people) town located on the [Gulf of California](/source/Gulf_of_California) in the [Mexican state](/source/Mexican_state) of [Sonora](/source/Sonora). It is located 25 kilometers north of the fishing and tourist town of [Bahía de Kino](/source/Bah%C3%ADa_de_Kino). Both of these towns are part of the [Municipality of Hermosillo](/source/Hermosillo_(municipality)).<ref>[http://www.e-local.gob.mx/work/templates/enciclo/sonora/ Enciclopedia de los Municipios de México]</ref> One of the two villages on the Seri Indian communal property (the other being [El Desemboque](/source/El_Desemboque) (''Haxöl Iihom'')), it has small stores, a primary school and a small satellite-fed secondary school (''[telesecundaria](/source/telesecundaria)''). It is one of the closest points on the mainland to [Tiburón Island](/source/Tibur%C3%B3n_Island), separated from it by the Canal del Infiernillo (''Xepe Coosot'').
