Punta Banda forms the southern boundary of the [Bahía de Todos Santos](/source/Bah%C3%ADa_de_Todos_Santos), sheltering the [Port of Ensenada](/source/Port_of_Ensenada) from the [Southern California Countercurrent](/source/California_Current). The twin islands of [Isla Todos Santos](/source/Isla_Todos_Santos) lie about {{cvt|6|km|mi}} off the northwestern tip of the peninsula, further sheltering the bay.
