# Pundo

**Pundo** ([Dzongkha](/source/Dzongkha): དཔུང་རྡོ་; [Wylie](/source/Wylie_transliteration): *dpung-rdo*; "strong-stone")[1] is a traditional [Bhutanese](/source/Bhutan) sport. It is a game played by [laymen](/source/Laity) and consists of throwing a [stone](/source/Stone) weighing over a [kilo](/source/Kilogram) as far as possible. The throwing movement is from the [shoulder](/source/Shoulder), with the stone held flat in the [hand](/source/Hand).[2]
