==Design and construction==
The Puli Bridge has a main span of {{convert|628|m|ft|abbr=off|sp=us}} and a total length of {{convert|1040|m|ft|abbr=off|sp=us}}. The road [deck](/source/Deck_(bridge)) is {{convert|24.5|m|ft|abbr=off|sp=us}} wide and the main suspension cables are {{convert|26|m|ft|abbr=off|sp=us}} apart. The bridge cost 440 million yuan (about US$71 million) and officially opened to traffic on August 25, 2015. Similar to the [Sidu River Bridge](/source/Sidu_River_Bridge), the first cable used to erect the span (the ''pilot cable'') was placed using a rocket.<ref name="Pilot Rope">{{cite journal | last1=Guo| first1=Dajin| last2=Zhou| first2=Wenhuan| last3=Yu| first3=Zhengfu| last4=Xia| first4=Guobang| last5=Li| first5=Xiao| last6=Liu| first6=Wei| last7=Yang| first7=Biyu| last8=Hu| first8=Mingfang| name-list-style=amp| year=2015| title=Use of Rocket Traction Method to Span Pilot Rope for Long Span Suspension Bridge Construction in Mountainous Area| url=http://docs.trb.org/prp/15-5164.pdf| journal=TRB 94th Annual Meeting Compendium of Papers| location=Washington, DC| publisher=[Transportation Research Board](/source/Transportation_Research_Board)}}</ref>
