**Puckett** is a [surname](/source/Surname) of [French](/source/France) [Huguenot](/source/Huguenot) origin, an [anglicized](/source/Anglicized) form of French surnames such as **Pouquette** or **Pouquet**[1] meaning "the son of [Pouque](/source/Pouque)" or [Puck](/source/Puck_(mythology)). It is found mostly in North America and the British Isles with the mass emigration of Huguenot families following the [St. Bartholomew's Day massacre](/source/St._Bartholomew's_Day_massacre).[2]
