# Prozac+

**Prozac+** were an [Italian](/source/Italian_people) [punk band](/source/Punk_Music), founded in [Pordenone](/source/Pordenone) in 1995. As with the Canadian band [Prozzäk](/source/Prozz%C3%A4k), they are named for the [brand name](/source/Brand_name) of the [antidepressant](/source/Antidepressant) [fluoxetine](/source/Fluoxetine) by [Eli Lilly and Company](/source/Eli_Lilly_and_Company).

## History

The band's three founding members are **Gian Maria "GM" Accusani** ([guitarist](/source/Guitarist) and singer), **[Eva Poles](/source/Eva_Poles)** (singer), and **Elisabetta Imelio** ([bassist](/source/Bassist)). Imelio died of breast cancer on March 1, 2020.[1]

Their second album, ***Acido Acida***, released by [EMI](/source/EMI), sold 175,000 copies and hit [platinum](/source/Platinum_certification) charts. Album's track *Acida* became the most important [Summer hit](/source/Summer_hit) of 1998, a record for the punk rock genre.
