# Procampta

***Procampta*** is a genus of butterflies in the family [Hesperiidae](/source/Hesperiidae). It consists of only one species, ***Procampta rara***, the **rare elf**, which is found in [Sierra Leone](/source/Sierra_Leone), [Liberia](/source/Liberia), [Ivory Coast](/source/Ivory_Coast), [Ghana](/source/Ghana), [Togo](/source/Togo), [Nigeria](/source/Nigeria), [Cameroon](/source/Cameroon), [Gabon](/source/Gabon), the [Republic of the Congo](/source/Republic_of_the_Congo), the [Central African Republic](/source/Central_African_Republic), the [Democratic Republic of the Congo](/source/Democratic_Republic_of_the_Congo), and [Uganda](/source/Uganda).[2] The habitat consists of drier forests.

Adults [mud-puddle](/source/Mud-puddling), and males are attracted to bird droppings and have been observed drinking the juices of overripe [oranges](/source/Orange_(fruit)).
