**proGREX.iv** was the name of an [electronic music](/source/Electronic_music) project founded by composer [Mick Hale](/source/Mick_Hale) and based in [New Brunswick](/source/New_Brunswick). Hale released one [studio album](/source/Studio_album), titled *[reINVENTION opERATION](/source/ReINVENTION_opERATION)*, under the name in 1997 for [Full Contact Records](/source/Full_Contact_Records).

## History

proGREX.iv was created as a collaborative project in 1996 by [Mick Hale](/source/Mick_Hale) and [vMarkus](/source/VMarkus) from [Crocodile Shop](/source/Crocodile_Shop) and [George Sarah](/source/George_Sarah) of [THC](/source/THC_(band)) with the intention of releasing a collaborative effort for [Cleopatra Records](/source/Cleopatra_Records).[1] In 1997 the supergroup released *[reINVENTION opERATION](/source/ReINVENTION_opERATION)* on [Full Contact Records](/source/Full_Contact_Records). It featured guest contributions from [Sarah Folkman](/source/Sarah_Folkman) of [Geko](/source/Geko) and [Jared Hendrickson](/source/Jared_Hendrickson) of [Chemlab](/source/Chemlab). The album comprises [remixed](/source/Remix) tracks utilized music from *[Consenting Guinea Pig](/source/Consenting_Guinea_Pig)* by [T.H.C.](/source/T.H.C._(band))[2] and *[The True Creator](/source/The_True_Creator)* by [D!v!s!on #9](/source/D!v!s!on_No._9).[3] and *[The True Creator](/source/The_True_Creator)* by [D!v!s!on #9](/source/D!v!s!on_No._9).[4][5] The band covered "[Don't Speak](/source/Don't_Speak)" by [No Doubt](/source/No_Doubt)[6] for the 1997 [Fifth Colvmn Records](/source/Fifth_Colvmn_Records) [various artists compilation](/source/Compilation_album) *World War Underground*.[7] An [edited](/source/Edited) version of the track "[reINVENTiNG SLEEP](/source/Reinventing_Sleep)" (electroBODYmixx) titled "[reInventing sLeep](/source/Reinventing_Sleep)" (electroBodyedit) appeared on *[Awake the Machines - On the Line Vol. 2](/source/Awake_the_Machines_-_On_the_Line_Vol._2)* by [Out of Line](/source/Out_of_Line_Music) and Sub/Mission Records.[8] The [online magazine](/source/Online_magazine) *Sonic Boom* criticized the source material for being lackluster and that the low quality of the proGREX.iv collaboration signaled the end of [Fifth Colvmn Records](/source/Fifth_Colvmn_Records), which would go bankrupt that year.[9][10][11]
