# Prix Gaïa

Watchmaking award

**Prix Gaïa** is an honorary award in watchmaking.[1]

Since 1993, the [Musée international d'horlogerie](/source/Mus%C3%A9e_international_d'horlogerie) (MIH) in [La Chaux-de-Fonds](/source/La_Chaux-de-Fonds) presents this award for special achievements in watchmaking.[2] The Prix Gaïa recognizes the achievements in three categories: "Artisanat création" (arts and creations), "Esprit d'entreprise" (entrepreneurship) and "Histoire" (history and research). Nominations are submitted to the management team of the MIH and discussed by the awards committee, that includes 10 to 15 people and is chaired by the MIH curator.[3]
