**Prithvipur Assembly constituency** is one of the 230 [Vidhan Sabha](/source/Madhya_Pradesh_Vidhan_Sabha) (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh) state in central [India](/source/India).[1] Initially, it came into existence in 1951 as one of the 48 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the erstwhile [Vindhya Pradesh](/source/Vindhya_Pradesh) state,[2] but it was abolished in 1956. This constituency again came into existence in 2008, following the delimitation of the legislative assembly constituencies. Prithvipur is small town of Bundelkhand.

## Overview

Prithvipur (constituency number 45) is one of the 5 Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in Niwari District. This constituency covers the Prithvipur and Jeron Khalsa [nagar panchayats](/source/Nagar_panchayat) and parts of Jatara and Prithvipur [tehsils](/source/Tehsil) of the district.[3]

Prithivpur is part of [Tikamgarh Lok Sabha constituency](/source/Tikamgarh_(Lok_Sabha_constituency)) along with seven other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely, [Tikamgarh](/source/Tikamgarh_Assembly_constituency), [Jatara](/source/Jatara_Assembly_constituency), [Niwari](/source/Niwari_Assembly_constituency) and [Khargapur](/source/Khargapur_Assembly_constituency) in this district and [Maharajpur](/source/Maharajpur%2C_Madhya_Pradesh_Assembly_constituency), [Chhatarpur](/source/Chhatarpur%2C_Madhya_Pradesh_Assembly_constituency) and [Bijawar](/source/Bijawar_Assembly_constituency) in [Chhatarpur district](/source/Chhatarpur_district).[3]
