"The very solid, imperforate shell has an ovate or subglobular shape. It is dark colored. The large [aperture](/source/Aperture_(mollusc)) is oblique. The inner surface of the [operculum](/source/Operculum_(gastropod)) is yellow, subconcave, with a submarginal, basal nucleus.
