'''Princess Paley''' was a hereditary [Russian noble title](/source/Russian_nobility) that was created in 1915 by Tsar [Nicholas II of Russia](/source/Nicholas_II_of_Russia) for his uncle's second wife, Olga and their legitimate male-line descendants.<ref>{{cite web |url=https://gerbovnik.ru/arms/3186 |title=Герб рода князей Палеев |work=gerbovnik.ru |accessdate=2017-11-06}}</ref> They belonged to the [Russian princely families](/source/List_of_Russian_princely_families) and were part of the [Russian nobility](/source/Russian_nobility).

==History==
It was first bestowed upon [Olga Valerianovna Karnovich](/source/Princess_Olga_Paley), Countess von Hohenfelsen, the [morganatic](/source/morganatic) second wife of [Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich of Russia](/source/Grand_Duke_Paul_Alexandrovich_of_Russia). The style of ''[Serene Highness](/source/Serene_Highness)'' accompanied the title, which was also used by the son and two daughters of Princess Olga's marriage with Grand Duke Paul Alexandrovich of [Russia](/source/Holstein-Gottorp-Romanov). With the murder of Prince [Vladimir Alexandrovich Paley](/source/Vladimir_Paley) in [Alapayevsk](/source/Alapayevsk), on 18 July 1918 by the [Bolsheviks](/source/Bolsheviks), the family and the Paley title went extinct in male-line.
