'''''Primitiva''''' (LRP-3087/LST-7023) was the fourth [album](/source/album) by [Martin Denny](/source/Martin_Denny). Released in August 1958, it was recorded at Liberty Studios in Hollywood and released on [Liberty Records](/source/Liberty_Records). In a review on [AllMusic.com](/source/AllMusic.com), Richie Unterberger gave the album four stars and praised it for the variety of instruments used: "Say what you will about the cheesiness of this pseudo-world music, Denny deserves some sort of credit for bringing instruments like the [m'bira](/source/Mbira), Burmese [gong](/source/gong)s, [koto](/source/Koto_(instrument)), Buddhist prayer bowls, and 'primitive log from New Guinea' into the mainstream."<ref>{{cite web|title=Primitiva|publisher=AllMusic.com|access-date=December 9, 2017|url=https://www.allmusic.com/album/primitiva-mw0000345008}}</ref>
