# Prespa Glacier

**Prespa Glacier** (Bulgarian: ледник Преспа, ˈlɛdnik ˈprɛspɐ) on [Rozhen Peninsula](/source/Rozhen_Peninsula), [Livingston Island](/source/Livingston_Island) in the [South Shetland Islands](/source/South_Shetland_Islands), Antarctica is situated east-northeast of [Tarnovo Ice Piedmont](/source/Tarnovo_Ice_Piedmont), east of the head of [Charity Glacier](/source/Charity_Glacier), southeast of [Ruen Icefall](/source/Ruen_Icefall) and southwest of [Macy Glacier](/source/Macy_Glacier).

It is bounded to the east by [Needle Peak](/source/Needle_Peak_(Antarctica)) and [Ludogorie Peak](/source/Ludogorie_Peak), to the northwest by [St. Cyril Peak](/source/St._Cyril_Peak) and [St. Methodius Peak](/source/St._Methodius_Peak), and to the southwest by [Shumen Peak](/source/Shumen_Peak) and [Yambol Peak](/source/Yambol_Peak), and flows southeastward into [Bransfield Strait](/source/Bransfield_Strait) between [Gela Point](/source/Gela_Point) and [Samuel Point](/source/Samuel_Point). The feature extends 3.5 km in east-west direction and 2.5 km in north-south direction.

The glacier is named after Prespa Peak in the [Rhodope Mountains](/source/Rhodope_Mountains), Bulgaria.

## Location

Prespa Glacier is centred at [62°43′36″S 60°12′42″W](https://geohack.toolforge.org/geohack.php?params=62_43_36_S_60_12_42_W) (British mapping in 1968, and Bulgarian in 2005 and 2009).
