The [discography](/source/Discography) of [Powderfinger](/source/Powderfinger), an Australian [alternative rock](/source/Alternative_rock) group, consists of seven [studio albums](/source/Studio_album), thirty-three [singles](/source/Single_(music)), six [extended plays](/source/Extended_play), three [live albums](/source/Live_album), four [compilation albums](/source/Compilation_album), one [video album](/source/Home_video) and twenty-nine [music videos](/source/Music_video). They have been nominated for forty-nine [ARIA Music Awards](/source/ARIA_Music_Awards), of which they have won eighteen.[1] Shortly after the independent release of their debut [self-titled EP](/source/Powderfinger_(EP)) in 1993, Powderfinger signed on to a major record label to release their second EP, *[Transfusion](/source/Transfusion_(EP))*.[2][3] In 1994 they issued their debut album *[Parables for Wooden Ears](/source/Parables_for_Wooden_Ears)*, which did not reach the [ARIA Albums Chart](/source/ARIA_Charts).[2] After performances at music festivals, touring and supporting international artists, Powderfinger released their second studio album, *[Double Allergic](/source/Double_Allergic)* (1996),[2] which became their charting breakthrough by peaking at No. 4.[4] Following public recognition from the album's high-selling singles, Powderfinger went on to release *[Internationalist](/source/Internationalist_(album))* in 1998, which was their first number-one album;[4] it was certified five times platinum by [ARIA](/source/Australian_Recording_Industry_Association) for shipment of 350,000 copies.[5]

In September 2000, the group released their fourth album, *[Odyssey Number Five](/source/Odyssey_Number_Five)*, which also reached number one;[4] it was certified eight times platinum for shipment of 560,000 copies.[6][7] Two of the album's songs, "[These Days](/source/These_Days_(Powderfinger_song))"[8] and "[My Kinda Scene](/source/My_Kinda_Scene)"[9] were released on the soundtracks for *[Two Hands](/source/Two_Hands_(1999_film))* (1999), and *[Mission: Impossible 2](/source/Mission:_Impossible_2)* (2000).[10] Their fifth album, *[Vulture Street](/source/Vulture_Street_(album))*, was released in 2003, and became their third number-one album; it was six times platinum for 420,000 copies.[6] In 2004, the group released their first greatest hits album composed of tracks from their early recording era, *[Fingerprints: The Best of Powderfinger, 1994–2000](/source/Fingerprints:_The_Best_of_Powderfinger,_1994%E2%80%932000)*. Weeks later, the group released their first live album, which also appeared in [DVD](/source/DVD) form. The group then had a hiatus to allow its members to pursue various side projects. After two years, the band regrouped and released their sixth studio album, *[Dream Days at the Hotel Existence](/source/Dream_Days_at_the_Hotel_Existence)* in 2007, and *[Golden Rule](/source/Golden_Rule_(album))* in 2009.[11][12][13] *Golden Rule* became their fifth studio album in a row which reached number-one.[4] On 13 November 2010 Powderfinger performed for the last time.[14] In November 2011, the group issued a second greatest hits album, *[Footprints: The Best of Powderfinger, 2001–2011](/source/Footprints:_The_Best_of_Powderfinger,_2001%E2%80%932011)*.[15]

In May 2020, the group reformed for a one-off [livestreamed](/source/Livestream) charity performance titled *[One Night Lonely](/source/One_Night_Lonely)*. An EP of the performance released on 25 May 2020.[16][17]
