**Powder Mill Pond** is a 419-acre (1.70 km2)[1] [impoundment](/source/Reservoir) on the [Contoocook River](/source/Contoocook_River) in [Hillsborough County](/source/Hillsborough_County%2C_New_Hampshire) in southern [New Hampshire](/source/New_Hampshire), United States. The pond's dam is located in the town of [Bennington](/source/Bennington%2C_New_Hampshire), with water impounded into the towns of [Hancock](/source/Hancock%2C_New_Hampshire) and [Greenfield](/source/Greenfield%2C_New_Hampshire).

The lake is classified as a warmwater fishery, with observed species including [smallmouth](/source/Smallmouth_bass) and [largemouth bass](/source/Largemouth_bass), [chain pickerel](/source/Chain_pickerel), [horned pout](/source/Brown_bullhead), [black crappie](/source/Black_crappie), and [bluegill](/source/Bluegill).[1]
