**Porto Cheli** ([Greek](/source/Greek_language): Πόρτο Χέλι, also *Portocheli*) is a summer resort town in the municipality of [Ermionida](/source/Ermionida) in the southeastern part of [Argolis](/source/Argolis), [Greece](/source/Greece). It is situated on a bay of the [Argolic Gulf](/source/Argolic_Gulf), 7 km south of [Kranidi](/source/Kranidi) and 40 km southeast of [Nafplio](/source/Nafplio). The island of [Spetses](/source/Spetses) is located 6 km south of Porto Heli. There are ferry connections from Porto Heli to the islands of Spetses, [Hydra](/source/Hydra_(island)) and [Poros](/source/Poros), and to [Ermioni](/source/Ermioni) and [Piraeus](/source/Piraeus).[2] There was a small private airport, [Porto Cheli Airport](/source/Porto_Cheli_Airport), south of the town, but it's closed since 2004 and now the land was sold.

The ancient city of [Halieis](/source/Halieis) (named *Halike* by [Pausanias](/source/Pausanias_(geographer))[3]), excavated by [Michael H. Jameson](/source/Michael_H._Jameson), is situated near Porto Heli.[4]

The former King [Constantine II of Greece](/source/Constantine_II_of_Greece) lived with his wife, [Queen Anne-Marie of Greece](/source/Queen_Anne-Marie_of_Greece), in Porto Cheli.[5] They owned a villa in Porto Heli, sold in 2022 and relocated to Athens.[6]

The yacht marina within the bay has become a popular wintering port for pleasure vessels.[7]
