# Port Passenger Accelerated Service System

The **Port Passenger Accelerated Service System** (PORTPASS) was a suite of programs of the former U.S. [Immigration and Naturalization Service](/source/Immigration_and_Naturalization_Service) (INS), including:

- Immigration and Naturalization Service Passenger Accelerated Service System ([INSPASS](/source/INSPASS))
- [Secure Electronic Network for Travelers Rapid Inspection](/source/Secure_Electronic_Network_for_Travelers_Rapid_Inspection) (SENTRI)
- [Videophone Inspection Program (VIP) and Outlying Area Reporting Station (OARS)](/source/Videophone_Inspection_Program_(VIP)_and_Outlying_Area_Reporting_Station_(OARS))
- [Remote Video Inspection System](/source/Remote_Video_Inspection_System) (RVIS)

While SENTRI and the Videophone Inspection Program are still in operation, most of these programs have been superseded by the U.S. [Department of Homeland Security](/source/Department_of_Homeland_Security) (DHS) [Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative](/source/Western_Hemisphere_Travel_Initiative) programs, such as [NEXUS (frequent traveller program)](/source/NEXUS_(frequent_traveller_program)) and [Global Entry](/source/Global_Entry) programs.[1]
