**Poroti** is a locality in [Northland](/source/Northland_Region), [New Zealand](/source/New_Zealand). [Titoki](/source/Titoki%2C_New_Zealand) is about 7 km to the west, and [Maungatapere](/source/Maungatapere) is about 8 km east.[1][2]

Around Poroti are a large number of orchards growing [avocado](/source/Avocado), and a number of flower growing operations growing [Sandersonia](/source/Sandersonia), [calla lilies](/source/Zantedeschia_aethiopica), [orchids](/source/Orchid), and [hydrangeas](/source/Hydrangea) for export markets all over the world.[*[citation needed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)*]

## Education

[Poroti School](/source/Poroti_School) is a coeducational full primary (years 1–8) school with a [decile rating](/source/Socio-Economic_Decile) of 6 and a roll of 37.[3] The school held a 125-year reunion in 2004.[4]
