# Poromyidae

**Poromyidae** is a [family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) of saltwater clams, [marine](/source/Marine_(ocean)) [bivalve](/source/Bivalve) [molluscs](/source/Molluscs) in the [order](/source/Order_(biology)) [Anomalodesmata](/source/Anomalodesmata). The [genus](/source/Genus) *[Dilemma](/source/Dilemma_(bivalve))*, described in 2008, is remarkable for being a [predator](/source/Predator) of [copepods](/source/Copepods), which is very unusual for a [sessile](/source/Sessility_(zoology)) mollusc.[1]
