The **Porden Islands**[1] are members of the [Arctic Archipelago](/source/Arctic_Archipelago) in the territory of [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut). They are located in the [Coronation Gulf](/source/Coronation_Gulf), south of the [Kent Peninsula](/source/Kent_Peninsula).

They were discovered in 1822 by Arctic explorer [John Franklin](/source/John_Franklin) and named after [William Porden](/source/William_Porden) and his daughter [Eleanor Anne Porden](/source/Eleanor_Anne_Porden),[2] whom he later married.
