In 2011, Ambrocio competed in the [men's freestyle 74{{nbsp}}kg](/source/2011_World_Wrestling_Championships_%E2%80%93_Men's_freestyle_74_kg) event at the [World Wrestling Championships](/source/2011_World_Wrestling_Championships) held in Istanbul, Turkey. He was eliminated in his first match by [Ricardo Roberty](/source/Ricardo_Roberty) of Venezuela. In the same year, he also [represented Peru](/source/Peru_at_the_2011_Pan_American_Games) at the [2011 Pan American Games](/source/2011_Pan_American_Games) in the [men's freestyle 74{{nbsp}}kg](/source/Wrestling_at_the_2011_Pan_American_Games_%E2%80%93_Men's_freestyle_74_kg) event. He was eliminated in his first match by [Matt Gentry](/source/Matt_Gentry) of Canada. Gentry went on to win one of the bronze medals.
