# Pomponesco

**Pomponesco** ([Casalasco-Viadanese](/source/Emilian_language#Dialects): *Pumpunésch*) is a *[comune](/source/Comune)* in the Italian [Province of Mantua](/source/Province_of_Mantua). As of 2007, the estimated population of Pomponesco was 1,770.[1]

It is one of [I Borghi più belli d'Italia](/source/I_Borghi_pi%C3%B9_belli_d'Italia) ("The most beautiful villages of Italy").[2] The experimental musical artist [Maurizio Bianchi](/source/Maurizio_Bianchi) was born there in 1955.
