**Pohari Assembly constituency** (formerly, **Pohri**) is one of the 230 [Vidhan Sabha](/source/Madhya_Pradesh_Vidhan_Sabha) (Legislative Assembly) constituencies of [Madhya Pradesh](/source/Madhya_Pradesh) state in central [India](/source/India).[1] This constituency came into existence in 1951, as Sheopur Pohri, one of the 79 Vidhan Sabha constituencies of the erstwhile [Madhya Bharat](/source/Madhya_Bharat) state.[2]

## Overview

Pohari (constituency number 24) is one of the 5 Vidhan Sabha constituencies located in [Shivpuri district](/source/Shivpuri_district). This constituency covers the entire Pohari [tehsil](/source/Tehsil) and parts of Shivpuri and Narwar tehsils of the district.[3]

Pohari is part of [Gwalior Lok Sabha constituency](/source/Gwalior_(Lok_Sabha_constituency)) along with seven other Vidhan Sabha segments, namely, [Karera](/source/Karera_Assembly_constituency) in this district and [Gwalior Rural](/source/Gwalior_Rural_Assembly_constituency), [Gwalior](/source/Gwalior_Assembly_constituency), [Gwalior East](/source/Gwalior_East_Assembly_constituency), [Gwalior South](/source/Gwalior_South_Assembly_constituency), [Bhitarwar](/source/Bhitarwar_Assembly_constituency) and [Dabra](/source/Dabra_Assembly_constituency) in [Gwalior district](/source/Gwalior_district).[3]
