In [historical records](/source/history) the [village](/source/village) was first mentioned in 1332. Before the establishment of independent [Czechoslovakia](/source/Czechoslovakia) in 1918, Podolie was part of [Nyitra County](/source/Nyitra_County) within the [Kingdom of Hungary](/source/Kingdom_of_Hungary). From 1939 to 1945, it was part of the [Slovak Republic](/source/Slovak_Republic_(1939%E2%80%931945)).
