# Plug Research

**Plug Research** is an [independent record label](/source/Independent_record_label), based in [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles), [California](/source/California), US.[1] Created by [Allen Avanessian](/source/Allen_Avanessian) in 1994,[2] the label specialized in [IDM](/source/Intelligent_dance_music), [folktronica](/source/Folktronica) and [experimental music](/source/Experimental_music).[3]

The label began with young artists that have made its reputation, such as [Exile](/source/Exile_(producer)), [Bilal](/source/Bilal_(American_singer)), [Flying Lotus](/source/Flying_Lotus), [Daedelus](/source/Daedelus_(musician)), and [Dntel](/source/Dntel). Today he continues his new selection of quality artists like [Tensei](/source/Tensei), [Shortcircles](/source/Shortcircles) or [Astrobal](/source/Astrobal). [Andrew Lojero](/source/Andrew_Lojero) was Senior A&R Director and Executive Producer for Plug Research from 2008 to 2012.[4]
