# Plectenchyma

**Plectenchyma** (from [Greek](/source/Ancient_Greek) πλέκω *pleko* 'I weave' and ἔγχυμα *enchyma* 'infusion', i.e., 'a woven tissue')[1] is the general term employed to designate all types of [fungal](/source/Fungus) tissues.

The two most common types of tissues are [prosenchyma](/source/Prosenchyma) and [pseudoparenchyma](/source/Pseudoparenchyma).

The [hyphae](/source/Hyphae) specifically become fused together.
