# Planamarengo

***Planamarengo*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of sub-Saharan African [jumping spiders](/source/Jumping_spider) first described by [Galina N. Azarkina](https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Galina_N._Azarkina) and [Charles R. Haddad](/source/Charles_R._Haddad) in 2020.[2] The type species, *Planamarengo bimaculata*, was originally described under the name "*Copocrossa bimaculata"*,[3] but was moved to a new genus in 2020 when two similar species were discovered in Kenya.[2]
