**Pistyll** is a village and [community](/source/Community_(Wales)) in the Welsh county of [Gwynedd](/source/Gwynedd), located on the [Llŷn Peninsula](/source/Ll%C5%B7n_Peninsula) midway between [Nefyn](/source/Nefyn) and [Llanaelhaearn](/source/Llanaelhaearn).[1] [Llithfaen](/source/Llithfaen) is the largest settlement in the community and had a population of 566 according to the [2011 census](/source/2011_United_Kingdom_census).[2] The actor [Rupert Davies](/source/Rupert_Davies), best known for playing the title character in *[Maigret](/source/Maigret_(1960_TV_series))*, retired to the village and is buried here.

The sixth century church, [St. Beuno's](/source/St_Beuno's_Church%2C_Pistyll), was used by mediaeval pilgrims travelling to [Bardsey Island](/source/Bardsey_Island).[1]
