The **Pioneer Party** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): حزب الريادة **Ḥizb ar-Riyadah**),[4] also known as the Leadership Party,[5] is a civil political party in Egypt.[4]

## History

The party was founded by former members of the [Muslim Brotherhood](/source/Muslim_Brotherhood_in_Egypt).[1] The party has decided to exclude former members of the [National Democratic Party](/source/National_Democratic_Party_(Egypt)).[4] The party joined a coalition with the [Renaissance Party](/source/Renaissance_Party_(Egypt))[6] and the [Wasat Party](/source/Wasat_Party) in Alexandria during the [parliamentary elections held in 2011 and 2012](/source/2011%E2%80%9312_Egyptian_parliamentary_election).[7]
