**Pioneer Bay** is a waterway in the [Qikiqtaaluk Region](/source/Qikiqtaaluk_Region), [Nunavut](/source/Nunavut), Canada. It lies off the southwestern coast of [Devon Island](/source/Devon_Island) in the eastern high [Arctic](/source/Arctic). Like [Baring Bay](/source/Baring_Bay) to the south and [Prince Alfred Bay](/source/Prince_Alfred_Bay) to the north, it is an arm of [Wellington Channel](/source/Wellington_Channel).

## History

In 1908, [Frederick Cook](/source/Frederick_Cook), an American explorer and [physician](/source/Physician), explored in this region.[2]
