# Pietro Gallocia

**Pietro Gallocia** or **Galluzzi** (c. 1120/30 in [Rome](/source/Rome) – 14 March 1211 in Rome) was a Roman [cardinal](/source/Cardinal_(Catholicism)).

He was apostolic subdeacon and governor of [Campagna](/source/Campagna) in the pontificate of [Pope Alexander III](/source/Pope_Alexander_III) (1159-1181). [Pope Clement III](/source/Pope_Clement_III) created him Cardinal-Deacon in 1188 and named him [Cardinal-Bishop of Porto e Santa Rufina](/source/Cardinal-Bishop_of_Porto_e_Santa_Rufina) in 1190. He participated in the [papal election, 1191](/source/Papal_election,_1191) and [papal election, 1198](/source/Papal_election,_1198). Papal legate in [Constantinople](/source/Constantinople) 1191–92.

In 1204 he consecrated King [Peter II of Aragon](/source/Peter_II_of_Aragon), who was solemnly crowned by the [Pope Innocent III](/source/Pope_Innocent_III). He became [Dean of the Sacred College of Cardinals](/source/Dean_of_the_Sacred_College_of_Cardinals) in April 1206. He died at Rome at very advanced age.
