**Pierre Viala** (24 September 1859 in [Lavérune](/source/Lav%C3%A9rune) – 11 February 1936) was a French scientist.

He has been honoured in the naming of 2 taxa of fungi;[1] *[Vialaea](/source/Vialaeaceae)* by [Pier Andrea Saccardo](/source/Pier_Andrea_Saccardo) in 1896 (Vialaeaceae family) *Vialina* by [Mario Curzi](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Mario_Curzi&action=edit&redlink=1) in 1935, which is now a synonym of *[Phoma](/source/Phoma)* Sacc., 1880.[2]
