**Picar** is a village and a former municipality in the [Gjirokastër County](/source/Gjirokast%C3%ABr_County), southern [Albania](/source/Albania). At the 2015 local government reform it became a subdivision of the municipality [Gjirokastër](/source/Gjirokast%C3%ABr).[1] The population at the 2011 census was 937.[2] The municipal unit consists of the villages Picar, Shtëpëz, [Kolonjë](/source/Kolonj%C3%AB%2C_Gjirokast%C3%ABr), Golem and Kaparjel [3] which are all inhabited by [Bektashi](/source/Bektashi) [Albanians](/source/Albanians).[4]
