**Pialeia** ([Greek](/source/Greek_language): Πιάλεια) is a village and a former [municipality](/source/Communities_and_Municipalities_of_Greece) in the [Trikala regional unit](/source/Trikala_(regional_unit)), [Thessaly](/source/Thessaly), [Greece](/source/Greece), named after the ancient city of "Pialeia". Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality [Pyli](/source/Pyli), of which it is a municipal unit.[2] The municipal unit has an area of 52.517 km2.[3] Population 2,897 (2021). The seat of the municipality was in [Fiki](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Fiki,_Trikala&action=edit&redlink=1) [[el](https://el.wikipedia.org/wiki/%CE%A6%CE%AE%CE%BA%CE%B7_%CE%A4%CF%81%CE%B9%CE%BA%CE%AC%CE%BB%CF%89%CE%BD)].

It used to be a place where only farmers lived. However, nowadays it is considered to be as a place where people who live in Trikala build their houses in order to get away from the city.
