The adult frog measures 30 to 40 mm in [snout-vent length](/source/Snout-vent_length). The skin of the dorsum can be gray, cream-white, or red in color. Some frogs have an Omega-shaped mark on their backs. The throat is black in color. This species does not display notable [sexual dimorphism](/source/Sexual_dimorphism).[2]

## Habitat

The frog is found in forest fragments and open areas in Atlantic forest, Amazon, [Pantanal](/source/Pantanal), [Cerrado](/source/Cerrado), and [Caatinga](/source/Caatinga) [places](/source/Biome). It has not shown tolerance to anthropogenic disturbance. Scientists have seen this frog between 0 and 1,000 m (0 and 3,281 ft) above sea level.[3]

Scientists have seen the frog in protected places: [Estacion Biologica Beni](/source/Estacion_Biologica_Beni), [Parque Nacional Noel Kempff](/source/Parque_Nacional_Noel_Kempff), [Área Natural de Manejo Integrado San Matías](/source/%C3%81rea_Natural_de_Manejo_Integrado_San_Mat%C3%ADas), Área de Preservação Ambiental Corumbatai, Botucatu e Tejupa, APA das Nascentes do Rio Vermelho, [APA Ilha do Bananal/Cantao](/source/APA_Ilha_do_Bananal/Cantao), APA Morro da Pedreira, APA Piracicaba Juqueri Mirim Area I, APA Pouso Alto, [Estação Ecológica Serra Geral do Tocantins](/source/Esta%C3%A7%C3%A3o_Ecol%C3%B3gica_Serra_Geral_do_Tocantins), [Parque Estadual do Jalapao](/source/Parque_Estadual_do_Jalapao), [Parque Nacional da Chapada dos Veadeiros](/source/Parque_Nacional_da_Chapada_dos_Veadeiros), and [Parque Nacional de Sete Cidades](/source/Parque_Nacional_de_Sete_Cidades).[3]

## Reproduction

At stage 37, the tadpole measures 20 mm. It is mostly brown in color with some blotches and a translucent tail.[2]

## Threats

The IUCN classifies this frog as [least concern](/source/Least_concern) of extinction. In some places, the frogs face [habitat loss](/source/Habitat_loss) associated with intensive agriculture and cattle ranching and the fires that people set to convert land for this purpose.[3]
