German paramotor

Skywalker General information Type Paramotor National origin Germany Manufacturer Phoenix Gleitschirmantriebe Status Production completed

The **Phoenix Skywalker** is a series of [German](/source/Germany) [paramotors](/source/Paramotor) that was designed and produced by [Phoenix Gleitschirmantriebe](/source/Phoenix_Gleitschirmantriebe) of [Würselen](/source/W%C3%BCrselen) for [powered paragliding](/source/Powered_paragliding). Now out of production, when it was available the aircraft was supplied complete and ready-to-fly.[1]

## Design and development

The Skywalker was designed to comply with the US [FAR 103 Ultralight Vehicles](/source/FAR_103_Ultralight_Vehicles) rules as well as European regulations. It features a [paraglider](/source/Paraglider)-style wing, single-place accommodation and a single engine in [pusher configuration](/source/Pusher_configuration) with a 2.25:1 ratio [reduction drive](/source/Reduction_drive) and a 86 cm (34 in) diameter four-bladed composite propeller. The use of a four-bladed propeller allows a smaller cage size and reduces the overall dimensions of the aircraft. The fuel tank capacity is 5 litres (1.1 imp gal; 1.3 US gal) and electric start was offered as a factory option.[1]

As is the case with all paramotors, take-off and landing is accomplished by foot. Inflight steering is accomplished via handles that actuate the canopy brakes, creating roll and yaw.[1]

## Variants

**Skywalker 330**
- Model with a 22 hp (16 kW) [Hirth F-33](/source/Hirth_F-33) engine in pusher configuration with a 2.25:1 ratio [reduction drive](/source/Reduction_drive) and a 86 cm (34 in) diameter four-bladed composite propeller. Empty weight is 24.5 kg (54 lb).[1]
