**Phillip LaRue** (born October 9, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, artist and producer from [Nashville](/source/Nashville), [Tennessee](/source/Tennessee).[1] He has released four studio albums with his band [LaRue](/source/LaRue_(band)), formed by his sister [Natalie LaRue](/source/Natalie_LaRue) and himself, and two studio albums as solo artist. He has sold over 500,000 copies and worked with many well-known music artists, including [Tenth Avenue North](/source/Tenth_Avenue_North), [Brandon Heath](/source/Brandon_Heath), [Jars of Clay](/source/Jars_of_Clay), [Audrey Assad](/source/Audrey_Assad), [Jennifer Knapp](/source/Jennifer_Knapp), [Phil Wickham](/source/Phil_Wickham), [Ronnie Dunn](/source/Ronnie_Dunn), [Jason Castro](/source/Jason_Castro_(singer)) and [Dave Barnes](/source/Dave_Barnes).[2] In 2010, he won a [Dove Award for Song of the Year](/source/Dove_Award_for_Song_of_the_Year) for co-writing "[By Your Side](/source/By_Your_Side_(Tenth_Avenue_North_song))" for [Tenth Avenue North](/source/Tenth_Avenue_North).[3][4][5] He also received a billboard #1 for the writing the song [Whiskey in My Water](/source/Whiskey_in_My_Water).
